![]() Even just being able to incoporate images - here a pdf - would be helpful. Although the bar line types signifying repeats may be inserted manually they do not in themselves cause LilyPond to recognize a repeated section. It can be done by uploading to - but that's a faff just for examples. [I still think it's a bit of a shame that I can't easily put in visible examples directly into this section of the MuseScore forums. I thought it was worth checking this out, though. The best workaround (that I've found), while limited, involves forcing a line break at the point of the clef change and setting the end-of-line. I read through the LSR for everything 'clef' but didn't find anything on this topic. No matter where I place bar checks and page breaks, Lilypond. Thats a) insane, b) stupid, c) unmusical, d) all three (take your pick). Therefore Lilypond cant ever break the page. Took me maybe 40 minutes to do the example - and it would take me quite a while to learn Lilypond to do the same thing, and then I doubt whether it would be quicker. When combined with repeated sections though, sometimes it is clearer to place a clef change after the bar line. Normally LilyPond assigns lyrics to notes automatically, but this sometimes differ from the original printed lyrics. In this case, clearly the barlines in the 7/sqr(71) staff will never line up with any of the other barlines in the score. I can see that MS is using the modern style for rests, but how could I get the 2 bar rest notated as shown in this example, with a breve rest (double whole note) symbol with a 2 above it? I almost succeeded, yet the Lilypond example seems to use an older form for the 2 bar rest at the start. I tried to do the example shown here - clearly Tchaikovsky - in MuseScore. So far I can't see many advantages, though some people like Lilypond. ![]() \override Staff.I tried to see whether there is any benefit in trying Lilypond vs MuseScore. \set Staff.explicitClefVisibility = #end-of-line-invisible \bar "|:" e8 fis gis a b gis a fis \bar ":|" Lilypond to put the new clef after the barline instead of before? It's a gross hack looking at the code, and the spacing isn't very When that's not possible or desireable, I kludged up this, but set Score.barNumberVisibility all-bar-numbers-visible. did nothing more, allowBreak woulnt play well with. Furthermore there seems to be now option to shorten the line that they fit just the typed notes and not span the whole \linewidth (workaround: set width0.5\abcwidth ). since noBreak should not influence bar numbers. abc.sty always produces a display style image, i.e., it starts a new line and centers it’s content. The bar line on staves is blanked out using hide. We must also allow bar numbers at bar lines without a break point. Mensurstriche layout (bar lines between the staves) layout, where bar lines do not appear on staves but between staves only, can be achieved with a StaffGroup instead of a ChoirStaff. The best workaround (that I've found), while limited, involvesįorcing a line break at the point of the clef change and setting breaks until way later, so we need to create a bar number now. I read through the LSR for everything 'clef' but didn't Sometimes it is clearer to place a clef change after the bar When combined with repeated sections though, Most times, placing a clef change before a bar line isĪppropriate.
